About the Journal
Focus and Scope
This journal contains a review of the results of geophysical research and earth science that have been published, linked to theory, evaluation of research results, and or policy provisions, aimed at users including policymakers, practitioners, academics, extension workers, students, and general users. The discussion was carried out comprehensively and aimed at providing information about the development of geophysical technology and earth science worldwide, as well as its uses, problems, and solutions. The scope of discussion covers the fields of science: Geophysics, Geology, Geomorphology, Geochemistry, Geotechnics, Hydrogeology, Mining, Remote Sensing & GIS, Petrology, Sedimentology, Rock Mechanics, and Rock Physics.
Peer Review Process
The author(s) may suggest a maximum of 5 potential reviewers to review their manuscript (please include the following information, e.g., title, name, institution, postage address, and email address). Authors can also propose unwanted individuals/reviewers not to review their article (maximum 2 researchers with a reasonable explanation). Reviewers must have the Scopus-ID or Researcher-ID (Thomson Reuters) or be recorded as a first author in this journal with (minimum) a master's degree.
Reviewers may also be invited from journals published by major publishers such as Elsevier or Springer. They must, however, come from different institutions with authors, preferably originating from different countries. Reviewers must not be subject to a conflict of interest involving the author(s) or manuscript(s). Nevertheless, the editor is not obligated to use any reviewers suggested by the author(s).
All manuscripts submitted to JGE will be read and reviewed blindly (double-blind peer review) by (a minimum of) 2 peer reviewers who are experts in their field. Manuscript Service Flow can be seen on this page. The Editor may assign the Reviewer(s) from the JGE peer reviewers, Author(s) suggestions, other researchers, and/or other JGE Editorial Members. The acceptance of a manuscript depends on the novelty of the research, the significance of the article, the truth of the content, the degree of originality, the clarity of description, and conformity with the objective of the journal.
Manuscripts may be accepted without revision, minor revisions, major revisions, or even rejected. The Editorial Board shall make the final decision on manuscript acceptance according to the reviewer's critical comments. Reviewers will notify the author via email of the results of the articles reviewed. The author is given an opportunity to revise his article based on the reviewer's (and editor's) suggestion no later than 8 weeks after the email notification.
Publication Frequency
JGE (Jurnal Geofisika Eksplorasi) is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal that is managed and published by the Geophysical Department, Engineering Faculty Universitas Lampung. JGE is published periodically (three times a year) in March, July, and November, and each issue publishes 6-7 articles.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles published on JGE are open access by following the Creative Commons: Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license.
Journal History
JGE (Journal of Exploration Geophysics) was first published in 2013 with a volume of 3 numbers published a year in print. Since 2014, the manager of JGE (Journal of Exploration Geophysics) has been Rian Amukti, and in 2018 changed to Rahmat Catur Wibowo. A new journal manager account was obtained in 2018, and the new journal management was improved in the middle of the year. The composition of the Editorial Team, Peer Review, Template, and Writing Format changed in 2019.
Technical problems caused the change of web address from http://journal.eng.unila.ac.id/index.php/geo to https://jge.eng.unila.ac.id/index.php/geoph. The old web address is still active (but not used for publishing) and only used for the archived.
In early 2020, the editorial chief changed from Mr. Ahmad Zaenudin to Mr. Rahmat Catur Wibowo, and the editorial member, too. In July 2020, the template and cover changed based on the editorial advisor's suggestion. The JGE 2021-v2 template is valid for the July 2021 edition.
